JOHN O’DONOGHUE M.I.A.T.I., C.P.A., A.I.T.I CHARTERED TAX ADVISER (CTA) (FIRM PRINCIPAL)

John founded the firm in April 2001. He studied accountancy at the Cork Institute of Technology first qualifying as an accounting technician (M.I.A.T.I.) in 1991 and later becoming a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) in 1995. In 1997, John became an associate member of the Institute of Taxation when he qualified as a tax consultant (A.I.T.I. Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA)).

John began his accountancy career in O’Brien & Williams, Accountants, Wellington Road, Cork and later moved to McSweeney & Co. on the South Mall, Cork and FDC Accountants as Area Manager.

In 1999, John made the move into industry when he became financial accountant of Mark Eire, B.V., the manufacturing subsidiary of a Dutch company operating in Ballyvourney, Co. Cork.

JULIET DUGGAN B.COMM., F.C.A. (FIRM CONSULTANT)  

Juliet joined the firm in January 2003. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in accountancy from University College Cork in 1994. Later that year, she joined the Cork office of Ernst & Young, one of the largest accountancy firms in Ireland, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997.

In 1998, Juliet also moved into industry when she accepted the position of Cost Accountant at multinational chemical manufacturing company Novartis in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. In 2001, she moved nearer home and took the role of financial accountant at Barry’s Cash & Carry in Mallow, Co. Cork.

As can be seen from the details above, both John and Juliet obtained wide and varied experience in practice and industry, both indigenous and multinational, before founding and developing O’Donoghue & Co. They strive to bring this experience to the benefit of their clients’ businesses at all times.
